What Do You Think are the Reasons We are Having Challenges in Iraq Still?

Last year, person asked me what I thought were the mistakes, or reasons that the Iraq war had cost so much, and what I believed were the reasons and problems we still faced challenges in Iraq. Indeed, I thought about this for a few minutes and said; there are so many, below are some issues, needing attention, such as;

1. Sectarian violence continues
2. Iran's efforts to undermine needs to stop
3. Kurds in the North need to have their own nation
4. Water potential and supply is a huge issue in Iraq
5. Oil yield needs to come up to speed quicker
6. Troops needs help protect against Iran
7. Christians there need to bug-out
8. Basic infrastructure upgrades

Water Filtration

If Kurds get their own country by dividing Iraq, that would help, the Kurds could have the Northern the region, but the Kurds would also need some of the mineral rights in the South, if the country is divided, that would be one smart thing to do, even if it were a 15-year deal. That might also get the 12 million Kurds in Turkey to go live there too, that would help the issues in Turkey. The Kurds would get their own country and they'd be a great success story.

Polluted water is a huge issue in Iraq, water filtration. We need to fix the water situation, possibly desalinate and pipe in more water, then put in lots of soccer fields everywhere. Give the kids sports.

Oil money could pay for it all if yield is boosted; they need to get to their 12 Billion Barrels sooner, than 2018 or 2020 currently estimated. They haven't increased oil yield much since 2003.,This alone would pay for the infrastructure, military, and that would also enhance the job situation. Even if they could go from 2.6 billion barrels now to 7 or 8 would drastically increase the inflow of money. They also need to protect those oil fields because Iran wants them too, and Iran feels there are some disputed reserves along the current border, and feels those areas in Iraq are certainly theirs.

Military needs to ramp up faster, their needs include 17 helicopter squadrons, 5 fighter squadrons, several reconnaissance squadrons, and a few vehicle squadrons, and they need great border control, and security. They need a missile defense system, and they need to forget this thought of the Us Troops leaving by December 31, 2011, that's unworkable. If the Us does leave, that country will fall back into chaos and Iran will become its devotee once it's all over with, unless we go back. This is a hot area for human conflict.

The Christians there need to stop trying to bring in their religion, they are not wanted there, they need to catch a clue, they are upsetting the Iraqis and causing more anger against the West. That sort of thing would go over much better, in 10-years when the money is flowing and there is economic increase worthy of an emerging nation of that size.

Infrastructure challenges, meaning; transportation, communication, banking, distribution, education, power, water, etc. Needs work, which in turn will also alleviate employment challenges. Qoute is that the money to pay for it is challenged, and the oil yield has to increase to do that first.

Money inflows will solve many problems, but corruption needs be kept under operate too. The worst part about this is the former plan was to take the oil money to pay for the war, security upgrades, infrastructure, rebuilding, etc. But the Democrats at the time passed legislation preventing this and tied it to the funding for our military. They thought they'd out maneuvered the Bush Administration, but really, they caused the failures in Iraq and then blamed the Administration, and the media ran with the story, and the Global Media continued. It's a simple issue of "will" and we lost our will, when we could have solved all these issues.

This is all fixable. Unfortunately, there seem to be more mistakes and unintended consequences now, but Iraq can fix its own problems, and they will have too, they don't want our help anymore. But without it, their chances for success are severely lessened. Please consider all this.
